Sales up to $625,000 at KEESEP
Sept. 26, 2010: Horses featured on ThoroStride proved especially popular during the marathon Keeneland September Sale, which concluded this afternoon in Lexington. Leading the group was a Taylor Made Sales Agency-consigned daughter of Mr. Greeley--Sleepytime (Ire) who was purchased by Charlie Gordon-Watson for $625,000. It was the second-highest price for a Mr. Greeley yearling at September. A colt by Smart Strike out of Minister's Mom was one of his sire's top-priced yearlings. Consigned by Bluewater Sales, the bay made $475,000 on the strength of agent Ben Glass's bid. That was the fourth-highest price realized by a Smart Strike yearling at September.
Book 1 horses featured on ThoroStride averaged a strong $415,000. That was well better than the Book 1 average of $348,858.
Other highlights of the sale included a filly by Giacomo-Tatiani who brought the co-second-highest price during the Book 5 opener when purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Moss for $85,000. Bluewater Sales consigned.
Congrats to all buyers and sellers and the best of racing luck in the future.
